[a. Resolution No. 031 Amending the Property Tax Impact Schedule for Fiscal Year 2027]
SECTION OF THIS. AND THIS IS WITH REGARDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 31, AMENDING THE PROPERTY TAX IMPACT SCHEDULE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2027. AND WITH THAT, WE HAVE MISS BECKY CANDY, OUR BUDGET ANALYST HELLO, BOARD, JUST AS WE AMENDED THE PROPERTY TAX IMPACT SCHEDULE FOR THE CITY, WE ALSO NEED TO DO THAT FOR THE FAIRWAY ESTATES DISTRICT. AND SO WE ARE PRESENTING THIS TONIGHT WITH THE UPDATED INFORMATION ON THE CERTIFIED PROPERTY TAX THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE COUNTY ON JUNE 12TH. YOU CAN SEE HERE WHAT WE HAD ORIGINALLY IN THAT IMPACT SCHEDULE ON THE LEFT. AND THEN THE NEW NUMBERS THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE COUNTY.IT'S A DIFFERENCE OF $17. AND SO WE HAVE THE IN THE CERTIFIED PROPERTY TAX REVENUE AT 12,278, WHICH WOULD BE AN INCREASE OF 1209. YOU CAN SEE THERE THE CURRENT PROPERTY TAX RATE THAT THEY WERE CHARGED IN THEIR LAST PROPERTY BILL, PROPERTY TAX BILL. AND THEN THE CERTIFIED TAX RATE IS THE 000809 AND IS PROPOSED THAT THE INCREASE WOULD TAKE THAT TO 000889, WHICH IS AN INCREASE OF 9.89%, RATHER THAN THE 10% THAT WE WERE PROPOSING ORIGINALLY. AND YOU CAN SEE THE IMPACT TO THE RESIDENTS. THAT IT WOULD BE A $23 AND 62 CENT INCREASE FOR AN AVERAGE VALUE HOME IN THAT AREA. THIS SECTION OF THE IMPACT SCHEDULE IS NOT CHANGING BECAUSE WE ARE NOT TYING THAT IMPACT, THAT INCREASE TO A SPECIFIC LINE ITEM. IF FOR SOME REASON THE TAX INCREASE DOES NOT PASS, WE WILL USE FUND BALANCE RESERVES TO COVER ANY ANY DIFFERENCES. THAT SAID, ALLOW YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A PUBLIC HEARING AND HEAR FROM ANY RESIDENTS ON THE ISSUE, AND THEN ADOPT THE RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE PROPERTY TAX IMPACT SCHEDULE. THANK YOU. THIS IS JUST COMPLETING THE PROCESS OF AMENDING THE INTERIM BUDGET TO MATCH THE CERTIFIED TAX THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE COUNTY ON JUNE 12TH. THIS AMENDMENT IS VERY SIMPLE. WE'RE ONLY TAKING THE THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE PROPERTY TAX INCREASE LINE TO THE PROPERTY TAX LINE. ALL OF THE REST OF THE INFORMATION IN THE BUDGET REMAINS THE SAME, GIVING US AN ENDING RESERVE BALANCE BUDGETED FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027 AT 24,000 977. THIS BUDGET, AS AMENDED, WILL BE THE OPERATING BUDGET BEGINNING JULY 1ST, AND ANY REVENUE TIED TO THAT PROPERTY TAX INCREASE, OF COURSE, WILL BE HELD IN RESERVE UNTIL AFTER, OR WILL BE RESTRICTED UNTIL AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING IN AUGUST.
